4H Fair

4-H Club

Sue Cook with the help of some of her students, parents and friends established Liberty Riders 4-H Club in 2003. The club is part of the St. Clair County MSU Extension 4H Youth Program. Our membership is primarily students of Rattle Run Farms. Our club holds meetings once a month at the farm. The primary goal of this club is to extend the knowledge of student in equine science and give them a fun experience along the way. The club attends numerous clinics on various topics associated with equine studies. Some members attend the St Clair County 4-H Fair in Goodells for an entire week of competition with their project horse/pony. We conduct small fundraiser events to help our club keep costs down during fair. We also support and help our community by volunteering time to the Liberty Riders, Inc. Therapeutic Riding Program. The club also participates in various 4-H activities such as Spring Achievement, Explorations Days, 4-H Sponsored Clinics, etc.

The Liberty Riders Club had another very successful 2009 year at fair.

This year we had 8 club members who showed a horse/pony at fair. These girls worked hard all winter and spring preparing themselves and their animals for this weeklong competition. Our club also had 1 club member, MacKenzie Joachim, that earned the right to competed at the 2009 4-H State Horse Show at Michigan State University. MacKenzie and Terms had a wonderful winning experience.

This year was filled with fun and successful competition. We are very proud of all our members.
